QUETTA: Nawabzada Aali Bugti, son of late Nawabzada Saleem Akbar Bugti and grandson of late Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, became the new chieftain of the Bugti tribe with the thumping support of 12 Bugti clans in an impressive Dastar Bandi ceremony held at Sui Tehsil of Dera Bugti on Tuesday 19th May 2009 .

Nawabzada Aali Bugti is stated to be the 23rd Nawab of the Bugti tribe. His grandfather, Nawab Shahbaz Akbar Bugti, was the last one who had taken over the tribe before Independence.

Messouri, Kalpar, Rahija, Ferozani, Shambani, Manorani, Mehbazai, Matoli and other Bugti clans attended the Dastar Bandi of Nawabzada Aali Bugti. Meanwhile, talking to the media, Nawab Aali Bugti vowed to work for the betterment of the people of the area.

He said those (Bugti and other dwellers of the area) who had migrated to the Punjab and Sindh would be brought back and rehabilitated. He also vowed to work for resolving differences among the Bugti tribes.

Nawab Aali Bugti said he would also work for the interests and securing the rights of Balochistan. “We need the support of the masses, and a lot of work has to be done for resolving the provincial issues,” he said.
